YOUR WORDS CAN CHANGE LIVES.
CELEBRATING 21 YEARS OF WRITE FOR LIFE
November 1 - December 31, 2023
Write for Rights (W4R) is Amnesty International's largest annual letter writing campaign - and it's happening now through December 31, 2023.

People like you around the world write letters on behalf of people who need urgent help. The goal of the campaign is to free, protect, or seek justice for people who have not committed or condoned violence, but have had their human rights abused for speaking up for human rights.

Won't you help us save a life?
HOW IT WORKS
-
Amnesty identifies cases—including Prisoners of Conscience, human rights defenders, torture survivors, and communities at risk—where global activism can make a huge impact. Click here to view the 2022 cases.
-
People like you sign up to organize letter-writing events, join events, or write on their own in order to generate as many letters on those cases as possible.
-
Letters and online petitions arrive at government offices and are sent to prison cells and to families all over the world.
-
Change happens. Hope grows. As messages flood mailboxes, prisoners’ conditions improve or they are released. Human rights defenders are better protected. Torture stops. Executions are halted.
-
Participants like you let us know how many letters they sent on each case. We use that information in our advocacy, and share it with the cases themselves—and with you
For those who take part in the Write for Rights campaign, you must follow explicit Amnesty directions in advocating for these individuals.

Thank you for participating!
